Whether you're new to underwater photography or want to enhance your skills, this course teaches you how to use a digital camera and accessories to take stunning photos beneath the surface. Learn techniques to improve your composition, lighting, and exposure for vibrant and crisp underwater images.
Who should take this course?
PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are eligible to take the Digital Underwater Photographer course.
Duration:
Typically 2–3 days
Academics:
Learn about the basics of digital photography, including camera settings, shooting techniques, and composition. The course also covers how to use natural light and artificial lighting (like strobes) for the best results. You’ll complete at least two open water dives, applying what you've learned to take incredible underwater photos.
Equipment:
You’ll use your own digital camera or one provided by the dive shop, with a housing to protect it underwater. Strobes or external lighting systems may also be used during training to enhance your shots.
